Mission Artists is entering their second decade of connecting & showcasing artists in the Mission. More than 100 artists all over the Mission Neighborhood will be opening their studio to the public for the weekend. Come check out some art, get inspired, support your local artists, and celebrate!

April 13th - Cezar Chavez Day Parade & Festival

Mission District / Valencia St (11AM - 6PM)

26 years ago the beloved leader Cesar Chavez Passed passed on to the spirit world. 50 years ago Cesar Chavez went on a Hunger Strike/25 day fast for non-violence.

This year for the Cesar Chavez Day Parade & Festival will honor his passing, dedication and love for the people. The parade will take place at 11 AM starting at Dolores Park at 19th Street and will continue to Lower 24th Street. The street fair portion will take place from 11AM to 6PM at Lower 24th Street (from Treat to Bryant). There will be merchants, arts & crafts, sidewalk sales, music, sidewalk sales, and a classic car show.

April 20th - SF Earth Day Festival

On Saturday, April 20th celebrate the 49th year of Earth Day in San Francisco’s sunny Mission District. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is “Celebrate the Green New Deal”.

There will be booths by non-profits providing information about environmental causes and solutions to pollution, transportation issues, health care, technology, and the environment, solar-powered stages by SolSolutions, and other topics relevant to leading a healthy and meaningful life in the modern age.

Featuring live bands & DJs, environmental speakers, hands-on eco workshops, sustainable fashion show, organic chef showcase, clean energy zone.

April 27th - 2019 Carnaval SF Royalty Competition

Mission High School @ 3750 18th St (6PM - 9PM)

Be a part of the excitement as contestants vie for the Carnaval San Francisco King, Queen, and Drag Majesty crown with electrifying performances in Carnaval costumes, sometimes accompanied by other dancers and musicians. The winners of the competition will be crowned as Royalty of the 41st Annual Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade and Festival held on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 25th to May 26th, 2019. Contest winners will serve as the Official Ambassadors at the Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade and win cash prizes!

In 2019 the San Francisco Cinco de Mayo celebration will return to the heart of the Mission District as San Franciscans will celebrate one of our City's most spectacular traditions at Mission Neighborhood Centers’ 15th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration. This family-friendly celebration which is being held on one of the Mission’s trendy, main thoroughfares will showcase the very best of Mexican and Latin American cultures with a diverse array of Mexican and Latino foods, music, dance and artistry for the entire family to enjoy.
